Created in the 1960s and naturally filled by underground springs, this 25-foot-deep lake has become a favorite feature among our guests—and for good reason.

This was my 4th stay at Northwinds Adventures cabins. Very peaceful setting on a private lake. Away from town, and still a convenient drive to Houghton or Hancock. Michelle and Karl are great hosts. Very responsive communication.

Hosted a fantastic concert with Sidewalk Prophets. Volunteers were great and they even had people directing traffic after the concert was over. Fantastic place.

This was a great getaway! I stayed with my boyfriend and another couple at the Brook Trout Cabin and we are already talking about doing it again in the warmer months. We stayed the last weekend in March just to fill a boring weekend up, and pretty much just walked the property and checked out the local bar scene.

Very clean, peaceful, and fun place to stay. The private lake was also a plus having kids. 1902 tap & grill has great food as well.and is about 7 minutes away. Highly recommended!

We stayed at the Love Palace cabin in early July and really enjoyed ourselves. The cabin was very clean and the perfect size for our family of five. We had plenty of space for local family to visit without feeling cramped. We loved the direct private lake access which kept our kids entertained especially given the amenities (beach, floating diving platforms, equipment rentals, and basketball court).

My family and I spent a weekend at Love Lake to celebrate my wedding. We had the ceremony and reception on the property and it was perfect! I wanted my wedding to be at a place where everyone could enjoy themselves--from the young children to adults of all ages. Everyone who came to celebrate with us loved the place as much as we did! Carl and Michelle were so kind and helpful with whatever we needed. We also rented out 4 of the cabins and were extremely satisfied with those as well.

Host of Annual Summer Concert

At Northwinds Adventures, everything we do is rooted in connection—connection to nature, to each other, and to something greater. Praise For a Purpose is a nonprofit close to our hearts, founded in memory of our daughter, whose dream was to bring a Christian concert to this land.

Though she went to be with our Lord in 2017, her vision lives on. Praise For a Purpose exists to strengthen families and communities by drawing people closer to Christ through music, worship, and shared experience in nature. It’s a celebration of faith, love, and legacy—held in the same peaceful wilderness she cherished.
